Purpose 

Power BI is a new tool at Keytrade bank that we will start implementing in 2024.  

The Power BI Expert at our organization plays a crucial role in the implementation of Power BI for Keytrade Bank. This person defines the power BI governance, designs the power BI security and access control, the setup and maintenance of workspaces & apps or tenant administration and the power BI user adoption at Keytrade Bank. You will make sure that the migration from Tableau runs smoothly. 

This role is key in transforming complex data into actionable business insights, linking business units with technical teams. The Power BI Expert ensures alignment of Power BI solutions with business objectives, while maintaining high quality and efficiency in implementation following standards and best practices. Collaborating with various departments such as Finance, Marketing, IT, Operations, HR, Risk & Legal is essential to enhance data visualization, reporting, and analytics capabilities.

Reporting line 

Reports directly to Data & AI product owner and is an integral part of the data & AI team.

Responsibilities

1. Data Modelling and Dataset Creation (40% of time)

• Design and develop common reusable data models suitable for Power BI.
• Create comprehensive certified datasets by integrating data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
• Optimize data models for performance and scalability in Power BI environments.
• Collaborate with IT and our data engineers to streamline the data collection and preparation processes.

2. Data Visualization and Reporting (30% of time)

• Develop and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports, tailored to requirements of business units.
• Transform complex data into intuitive visualizations and actionable insights using Power BI.
• Maintain the accuracy and quality of data visualizations and reports.
• Lead and manage Power BI development projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.

3. Data Governance (10% of time)

• Implement and uphold data governance standards within Power BI to ensure data integrity, data quality, and compliance.
• Work closely with compliance, legal, and security teams to maintain governance and privacy standards within Power BI environments.

4.Training and Enablement (10% of time)

• Conduct training sessions on Power BI, with a focus on how to use are certified data sets and data visualization.
• Define training participation based on our data personas.
• Integrate all trainings in our data & AI academy framework.
• Develop training materials and documentation for Power BI users.
• Enhance data literacy and self-service BI capabilities across the organization.

5.Data & AI Strategy and Innovation (10% of time)

• Stay updated with the latest trends in Power BI, data visualization, and analytics.
• Integrate the use of new AI functionalities like co-pilot.
• Think forward about the evolution of our data platform (integration with Azure, Fabric, etc…)
• Recommend and implement innovative Power BI solutions.
• Contribute to strategic planning for data analytics initiatives.

Competencies

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree by preference in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Power BI-focused role, with significant expertise in data modelling and dataset creation.
• Proficiency in Power BI development, including DAX, Power Query, data modelling, and dataset optimization.
• Knowledge of SQL and experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Strong analytical skills, able to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in establishing data governance within Power BI environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
