How can we help you?

Securities transfer to another bank

What are the charges for a transfer to another bank or broker?

The charges for transferring securities to another financial institution depend on the number of lines you are transferring. The charges for a securities transfer to another bank or broker are EUR35 excl. VAT (EUR42.35 incl. VAT) per line. Your trading account is debited with the charges before your transfer. If the balance of your trading account is insufficient, we are unable to start the transfer. Ensure the balance of your trading account is sufficient to avoid any processing problems.

How long does a securities transfer to another bank or broker take?

The processing time of a securities transfer depends on factors such as:

1. How you request the transfer

All banks handle securities transfers differently. If you instruct a local branch to perform the transfer, it will forward the request to the head office. The head office will contact our back office and forward the necessary information for the transfer. Keytrade Bank will check whether the balance of your trading account can cover the transfer charges and will then meet the request. Ensure the balance of your trading account is sufficient to avoid any processing problems. If you instruct Keytrade Bank to make the transfer, we will start as soon as your trading account can be debited with the transfer charges and we will contact the other bank.

2. Which instruments you are transferring

Investment funds* generally require more time (3 to 4 weeks) than listed investments (2 to 3 weeks). In view of possible longer processing times, we would like to draw your attention to the (extra) risks involved in the transfer of warrants, turbos or other volatile securities. It is not possible to sell/close your securities during the transfer.

* Fund means «Undertaking for collective Investment». Undertaking for collective Investment is a general term used for different undertakings collecting money from the public and whose activity consists in managing an investment portfolio. The fund notion contains as well collective investment schemes in the form of an investment company (such as the Sicav or Sicafi) as the contractual funds (such as the Mutual Fund) and their sub-funds.

Why has my transfer not been completed yet?

We start to process your request to transfer securities as soon as we have received the request directly from you or via the other bank and the balance of your trading account is sufficient to cover the transfer charges. Your transfer may be delayed because your bank has not taken any action yet in cooperation with Keytrade Bank or the balance of your account is insufficient to cover the transfer charges. Ensure the balance of your trading account is sufficient. Because every bank uses official custodians to keep your securities, your transfer involves many parties. This may cause extra delays. In addition, investment funds* generally require more time (3 to 4 weeks) than listed investments (2 to 3 weeks). The initiative always lies with your new bank. If you would like to find out the status of your securities transfer, please ask your new bank.
