How can we help you?

Accounts for minors

How do I open an account with Keytrade Bank for a minor?

To open an account for a minor, select option “A minor” in the application form. First fill in the minor's details and then your details as their parent or legal guardian. Please note that only the minor's parent or legal guardian can submit an application*. A birth certificate, Kids-ID or family composition certificate needs to be included with the application.

What accounts does a Keypack for minors include?

A Keypack always includes a current account, Azur savings account and trading account, regardless of whether you are a minor or an adult.

What transactions can a minor perform themselves?

A minor cannot make any transfers or other transactions themselves in the app or on the transaction site. However, minors aged 12 to 18 can receive a debit card and use it to make payments.

Those minors can also access their accounts in the app or on the transaction site, but only to check what is in their accounts.

What documents do I need to provide when I open an account for a minor?

As you probably know, only the minor's parent or legal guardian can open an account for the minor. We therefore ask you to provide proof that you are the minor's parent or legal guardian. This can be a birth certificate or Kids-ID. If the minor is more than 12 years old, we will ask for their identity card (Kids-ID).

*Not every application necessarily leads to an account being opened. Keytrade Bank reserves the right to accept or refuse any account application.
