How does a bridge loan work?
What is a bridging loan and what is it used for?
A bridging loan "bridges" the period between the purchase of a new home and the sale of the current home. The term of a bridging loan is a maximum of 12 months. The maximum amount of a bridging loan is the value of the property to be sold minus any outstanding debts and costs associated with the sale of this property. Our simulation tool will calculate this for you.
The repayment of a bridging loan takes place once that property is sold, or on the final payment date of the bridging loan at the latest. You pay a monthly interest amount on the bridging loan from the moment of its drawdown until its repayment.
Please note that a bridging loan always requires a valuation of the property to be sold.
